IVAN VERA
Iván Vera is a Chilean entrepreneur and recognized international speaker on innovation & Entrepreneurship. He graduated as an Electrician Civil Engineer from the University of Federico Santa Maria, Chile in 1981. Vera is co-founder and president of INNSPIRAL, Magical Startups and founder and president of Turingo.
He co-founded INNSPIRAL back in 1989, a company oriented in the design of innovation strategies for both startup and well established businesses. INNSPIRAL has helped businesses in the fields of Banking, Insurance, Mining, Retail and many more. By the end of 2019 INNSPIRAL had 50 experts on innovation and collaborated with executive officers of large businesses across Latin America.
Magical Startups serves as an accelerator for digital startups with global impact. It has invested $2 million of seed capital in 35 startups focused on traditional business but also robotics and artificial intelligence. Thirty two of these investments continue to grow at international level.
Turingo (founded in 2018) is an online platform dedicated to the education of innovation, entrepreneurship and new technologies to educate future leaders of Chile and Latin America. It has helped many young entrepeneurs boost their innovation and take on new digital businesses in the globalized context we live in. By the final quarter of 2019, Turingo had over 600 students and had a value of $1.5 million.
Vera is also the director of Fraunhofer Research Foundation Chile, which promotes cooperated Chilean-German applied research. In his 12 years as Keynote Speaker, Vera has spoken for over 400 business audiences in over 20 countries across the world, inspiring entrepreneurs to innovate in growth, profitability and sustainability. Vera was recognized as 'Entrepreneur of the Year' at the Annual Gala Dinner of the North American-Chilean Chamber of Commerce in 2019.
CLAUDIA MORALES
Claudia Morales, Vice President, is part of the Multi-Asset Portfolio and Investment Consulting team (MAPIC) for Latin America. She is responsible for creating and delivering cross-region tailored portfolio solutions and strategic investment analysis primarily through asset allocation and risk analysis to institutional and wealth clients. Previously, she was part of the Latin America & Iberia Investment Strategy team from the BlackRock Investment Institute. In that role, Claudia was responsible for developing market views and economic research for retail and institutional clients within the Latam & Iberia region.
She joined the company in September 2011. In Chile, she was Deputy CIO at Larrain Vial, the largest independent brokerage company in Chile. Prior to that, she worked as Senior Analyst at Cruz del Sur Inversiones, the financial services unit of the Angellini group, the largest industrial group in Chile. She also worked as an Economist at the Chilean Central Bank for 5 years in core units, the Macroeconomic Analysis and the Models and Forecast one.
Claudia earned an Industrial Engineering degree in 1996 from the Universidad de Chile, and Financial Diploma at the same university. Master in Finance from Universidad Finis Terrae in 2017.
