GIANCARLO VISCONTI

Giancarlo is a Ph.D candidate in the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. He specializes in comparative politics and quantitative methods. His research interests include political behavior, political parties, distributive politics, causal inference, and Latin American politics. His research projects have been funded by the Social Science Research Council, the Institute of Latin American Studies, and the Department of Political Science at Columbia University. Giancarlo’s research has been published, or is forthcoming, in Political Science Research and Methods, Electoral Studies, Latin American Politics and Society, and Revista de Ciencia Política.

 

RODRIGO AJENJO

Rodrigo is a Business Engineer and holds a MA of Economic Analysis from the University of Chile. He is currently a MPA student with a concentration in International Finance at Columbia University.  He has worked in the Research Department of the Ministry of Economy and as Economic Advisor to the Undersecretary of Finance, both of the Chilean government. He contributed to the design and implementation of major economic policies like a one-stop-shop to start a business, the tax reform of 2014 and an agenda to foster trade in services.  He has been a member of multiple public-private committees of Corfo (Chilean Development Agency), consultant to the World Bank and author of a chapter of Social Infrastructure Financing for Copsa. In addition, he has been lecturer of Macroeconomic at the School of Business and Economy of the University of Chile, and of Microeconomic at the Mayor University in Chile. 

 

LUCAS PERELLO

Lucas Perelló (September 15 1988) graduated with a B.A in Political Scientist from Universidad Diego Portales (2010). He holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile (2011) and a Master of Arts in Applied Quantitative Research from New York University (2015). He is currently pursuing a PhD in Politics at The New School for Social Research, where he is researching voter-party linkages in developing democracies. He is also an Adjunct Professor of International Relations and Political Science at Marymount Manhattan College and Yeshiva University, respectively. In the past, he has taught in The New School for Social Research. He is an associate member of the Electoral Political Observatory of Universidad Diego Portales and has published book chapters and journal articles on electoral behavior. He periodically publishes columns on Latin American politics for Latin America Goes Global (Global Americans).
