Axel Christensen joined BlackRock in 2009. He has more than 15 year of investment experience, including CIO at a Chilean pension fund and head of investments for an insurance company. He was also partner at an asset management firm focused in Latin America and held positions at Citi and McKinsey.
 
Axel is currently Vice President of the Chilean Ministry of Finance’s Advisory Council on Capital Markets. He also was a member of the Presidential Committee for Pension Reform in 2006. In 2008, he was nominated as a Yong Global Leader group at the World Economic Forum. Axel has a degree in industrial engineering from the Catholic University of Chile and an MBA from Stanford University, where he was an Arjay Miller scholar.
